Building & Grounds
We are the people that make sure everyone is warm in the winter and cool in the summer, that their offices are clean and the buildings & grounds look attractive, and that all the mail and supplies are delivered on time.
Berrien County Building and Grounds Department is responsible for maintaining and operating sixteen buildings throughout Berrien County at ten different locations:
- Administration Center
- Courthouse
- County Jail
- Juvenile Center
- Truancy Center
- 2100 Empire Complex
- Animal Control
- Drain Division
- South County Courthouse
- MSU Extension
- Three Oaks Professional Building
- Sheriff's Department Training Facility
Our staff oversees the maintenance, cleaning and landscaping for:
Over 500,000 square feet
Operating budget 3.7 million
Twenty-Eight full-time employees with a variety of skills maintain our facilities, provide mail room service, custodial services, landscaping, general maintenance and mechanical maintenance.
The Building and Grounds Department is also responsible for capital improvement projects including new construction and building alterations.
