Mediation and other Alternative Dispute Resolution

Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)/Mediation is a form of conflict resolution available to participants in civil proceedings, including domestic relations proceedings.  These options allow the parties to resolve their cases outside of a court hearing, and can take place at any point in time during a case subject to order of the Court.

The Berrien County Trial Court has two separate listings of individuals who are able to provide these services to parties.  Those who practice with the civil division are listed under Civil Mediation while those who practice with the family division, in the domestic relations arena, are listed under Domestic Relations Mediation

Please also see helpful links to the State Court Administrative Office’s website for some additional background in mediation.  Thank you for your interest in alternative dispute resolution options.
