TO THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF BERRIEN COUNTY: Your County Personnel and Human Services Committee respectfully recommends the adoption of the following:
R E S O LU T I O N
WHEREAS, Berrien County has owned and operated Silver Beach County Park since 1990; and
WHEREAS, the Berrien County Parks Commission has recommended several park improvements that may include playground enhancements, a new pavilion, a dune trail, an enclosed concession building and a new restroom building near the Shadowland Pavilion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVEDby this Berrien County Board of Commissioners that the Berrien County Parks Department is authorized to apply to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund for a grant amount of up to $200,000 for park improvements at Silver Beach County Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the local match will be an amount not to exceed $50,000 from the Berrien County Capital Improvement Fund.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if additional non-County match funds become available, the grant request amount may increase.
