With its forests, dunes and Lake Michigan shoreline, Berrien County has long been one of Michigan's most popular bird watching locations. With this in mind and to promote recreational birding and bird conservation in Southwest Michigan, the Berrien County Parks sponsors the Berrien Birding Club.
The club sponsors a regular schedule of birding outings to locations in and near Berrien County, as well as occasional meetings. The club also publishes a regular newsletter, The Berrien Bird Observer, and Field Notes, an annual summary of all species seen in Berrien County.
For more information about club activities and membership, please call the nature center at Love Creek County Park at 269.471.2617. Note: Although we'd encourage anyone with an interest in watching birds to consider joining the club, our scheduled field trips are open to all. So grab your binoculars and join us sometime!
