School Resource Recovery Grant Overview
Berrien County Resource Recovery School Grant program is available to provide monetary support for waste reduction and recycling projects in schools. Grant money will go toward purchasing recycling equipment and/or curriculum supplies to help carry out the projects. Projects should provide new or expanded in-school opportunities in the 4R's; reducing, reusing, recycling, and re-buying (buying recycled products).
Eligible Applicants
School Recycling Grant applications are sent to all Berrien County public, non-public, public school academies, and home-school groups; college campuses located in Berrien County; and other approved educational institutions in September each year.

Approximately $10,000 was awarded to these 13 Berrien County schools in 2008/09 to start and improve recycling & environmental projects. The grant program has awarded $44,702 to Berrien County schools since it began in 2003.
