Clean Sweep Pesticide Collections
Open to Michigan Farmers, Greenhouses, and Other End Users of Pesticides

Labels are checked and materials are carefully handled to ensure proper disposal of pesticides.
Clean Sweep is a free and non-regulatory program to help safely dispose of banned or unusable pesticides. It is part of the Michigan Clean Sweep program and is a cooperative effort among Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties. Some funding support for disposal costs is provided through a grant from the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
Who can participate?Anyone in Michigan that is an end user of pesticides, such as home owners, farmers, greenhouses, nurseries, and golf courses, etc.
What items are accepted?Any out-of-date, banned or out of condition pesticides. All information is kept confidential and it is free.
2009 Clean Sweep Collection Dates March 25, June 24, July 29, August 26, and September 30. Applications must be turned in at least 2 weeks before schedule collection date.

Tips for safe transport of pesticides:
- Keep in original and labeled containers
- Don't mix contents of unknown, unlabeled or different containers or different products
- Check for leaking containers (overpack leaking containers into clear plastic bag or leak proof outer container)
- Don't transport with open tops
- Place in vehicle away from passengers
- Secure containers to prevent spills
