Bags: Paper & Plastic

• Walmart: Most WalMart stores have a platic bag recycling collection bin near their front entrance. The 2 WalMart locations in Berrien County are - 1400 Mall Drive in Benton Harbor AND 2107 S. Eleventh Street in Niles.
• Martin's Super Market: 2121 Cleveland Ave., St. Joseph, 983-5172; 5637 Cleveland Ave., Stevensville, 429-1711; 720 S. 11th St., Niles, 684-2722.
• Recycling Programs: most curbside and drop-off programs will accept BROWN PAPER BAGS for recycling. Check with your local program.

— Reuse plastic and paper grocery bags when shopping. Often stores will pay you back for each bag reused.
— Cloth Bags: use cloth bags - they are very sturdy and can be reused many times.

Plastic bag recycling may be possible through Enviro-Bag, a program that takes used plastic grocery bags and recycles them into new, usable garbage bags. Visit the web site, www.envirobag.com, or call 800-866-3954 to find out more about Enviro-Bag. Some area schools participate in this program as a fund raiser.
