- Emergency Shelter: 645 Pipestone Road, Benton Harbor. 925-1131. Hours: Anytime, but call first if possible. Accepts kitchen utensils, working small appliances, towels, sheets, and baby items.
- Everybody's Everything: 1523 Niles Avenue, St. Joseph. 983-3276. Store Hours: Mon, Tues, Thur 11:30 - 5:00 and Fri, Sat 11:30 - 3:00. Accepts antique and vintage clothing for resale.
- Freecycle: www.freecycle.org, website to help local people reduce and keep good items out of the landfill.
- Goodwill: accepts gently used clothing, household goods, toys, small appliances, cars and other vehicles. Donations are tax deductible and can be dropped off at any Goodwill retail stores listed below.

Items NOT Accepted at Goodwill: Large appliances (stoves, freezers), furniture in poor condition/in need of repair, food and perishable product, used automotive parts, tires, batteries, stained or torn bed springs/mattresses.

— Second hand stores, pawn shops, antique stores & garage sales are great places to sell unwanted items or buy used items at low prices.
— Renting equipment that you may only use occasionally is a great way reduce waste in the long run, conserve space in the garage, and save money.
