Paper


  • Coloma area Boy Scouts collect newspaper as a fundraiser. Take newspaper to the collection shed at McDonald’s in Coloma. Contact Julie at 468-7479 for more information.
  • Curbside Recycling Programs: often accept paper for recycling. Please note which kind of paper is accepted in which program. Not all paper is accepted in each program. See Curbside Recycling Programs in this guide.
  • Drop-off Recycling Program: often accept paper for recycling. Not all paper is accepted at each site - pay attention to signage at each site to find out what kind of paper is accepted. See Drop-off Recycling Programs in this guide.
  • Gateway Main: 201 Sylvester St., Berrien Springs. 471-2897. Accepts paper and cardboard for recycling. Call for drop-off instructions.
  • Other Scout groups and community groups may run a paper-drive, fundraising project in your area. Check directly with the local groups.
  • Phone books: see PHONEBOOKS in this guide.


- High Grade Paper: white office paper including computer, copier, and printer paper.
- Mixed paper: colored paper, notebook paper, post-it notes, flyers, greeting cards, post cards, file folders, and unwanted advertising mail (see JUNK MAIL).
- Paperboard (chipboard): the brown or grey material used to make items such as cereal and other dry food boxes, clothing and shoe boxes, notepad backs, and toilet tissue and paper towel cores.
- Corrugated Cardboard: boxes, etc.
