• Gateway Services: 201 Sylvester Ave., Berrien Springs. 471-2897. Current accepted items include: Paper, Cardboard, Newspaper, and Book Recycling; Secure Document Destruction, Wood Pallets, and Plastic Film. Two recycling options are available: recycling pick-up service which could include scheduled route pick-up per customer’s needs (daily, weekly, quarterly, etc) or pick-up as volume dictates; AND/OR recycling drop-off service - bring materials to Gateway’s Berrien Springs facility Mon-Fri 8am-4pm, no appointment required. • Michiana Recycling and Disposal: 33541 Reum St., Niles. 800-722-9710. www.michianarecyclinganddisposal.com. Free weekly, curbside recycling to all residential customers on the same day as garbage day. Accepted items: newspaper & inserts, brown paper bags, corrugated cardboard, paperboard (no frozen or microwave paperboard containers), junk mail, magazines, colorless bottles & jars, metals, and plastic bottles/jugs/ridged containers #1-#7. Yard waste and miscellaneous metal recycling pick up also available. Free recycling for commercial customers.
• Reliable Disposal: 800 677-1083. www.reliabledisposal.com. New curbside recycling service utilizing the Yellow Top 96 gallon recycling cart. The covered recycling carts are a tremendous improvement over the old recycling bins, eliminating the effects of wind, rain and snow upon recycling materials and allowing recyclers to easily push the recycling to the curb. There’s no need to sort recycling materials because the Yellow Top cart allows for “single stream” recycling. The co-mingled materials are sorted after collection.
